Make Dad’s Day
This Year Instead of giving Dad a tie or gift card this Father’s Day, why not give him a gift he’ll never forget – the chance to create a lasting memory with the kids? It doesn’t require spending exorbitant amounts of money or stressing out over getting everything perfect. Sometimes the simple things mean the most.
Here are a few ideas to get you started: Have a backyard campout Get out the tent, sleeping bags and lantern and let Dad and the kids experience an adventure in their own yard.
Don’t have camping gear? Borrow some from a friend. Make sure to include some board or card games, snacks (S’mores are a must!) and drinks.
Plan a movie night
Rent or buy Dad’s favorite childhood movie and let him enjoy re-living some of his boyhood with the kids. Make it even more fun and have popcorn with different toppings or an ice cream bar.
Grill out
Got a Dad that loves to grill? Make it a family affair by involving the kids. He can teach them his secret recipes, tips for grilling perfection and any other tricks.
Go fishing
Throughout the month of June, in conjunction with the “Take Me Fishing!” program, many kids’ fishing events have been planned throughout Georgia. It’s a great way for Dads and kids to bond and enjoy time just talking and relaxing, as well as land the “big one”!
